I am Ballito is not the product — it is the first area. The product is a finished local commerce platform that can launch any town as “I am [Your Town]”: locals install it straight from the browser in two taps (no app store), collect stamps on one passport that works across every participating merchant, and redeem coupons at the till from a phone or iPad — no hardware. Merchants run their own offers; billing, compliance, admin, and editorial tooling are all built and running. We open exactly one partnership per area. Claim Ballito, Umhlanga, Hartbeespoort, Stellenbosch, or your own town, pass the fit review, and no one else can have it — you sign the merchants and own the local relationships, we run the platform behind you.

What is already built

  • The whole platform launches per area under its own “I am [Your Town]” identity — same engine, your community, your brand presence.
  • Installable PWA: two taps to the home screen on Android, a guided add on iPhone — no app store between us and a feature update.
  • Cross-merchant stamp passport: one loyalty card for the whole area, with rewards that stack across cafés, salons, restaurants, and shops.
  • Area-wide coupon feed with three till-side redemption mechanisms: rotating PIN/QR, scan-the-till QR, and cashier-scans-customer.
  • Full merchant self-service: listing editor, three-step coupon wizard, stamp cards, staff seats, and a redemption console that runs on any phone.
  • Tiered subscriptions (Free, Pro R299/mo, Premium R599/mo) with Paystack billing and limits enforced on the server, not just in the UI.
  • Push campaigns, merchant analytics, a platform admin layer, and an editorial CMS publishing a weekly “What’s on” digest for your area.
  • POPIA-compliant by default: unbundled consent at sign-up, an immutable consent ledger, and built-in data export and deletion.
